Curly Assembly began as the vision of a determined teenager who set out to create a better path for natural hair care. Frustrated by hair products that weren’t affordable, didn’t deliver results, and even caused health issues like uterine fibroids in her family members, Angel Coulter, at just 17 years old, decided to take matters into her own hands. When Angel saw her own creations transform the health of her mother’s and grandmother’s hair, she knew she had to share these products with the world. Four years later, Angel continues to develop high-quality, natural haircare solutions for all types of curls, right from her experience as someone who once struggled with frizz and low-porosity hair.
Our Journey
Curly Assembly launched on June 24, 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, we’ve had the honor of working with celebrities and influencers who believe in our mission. In 2021, singer Lizzo featured Curly Assembly on her TikTok, sharing her love for our Whipped Hair Butter with her followers. This recognition and continued collaborations with influencers have strengthened our connection with the curly hair community, allowing us to reach, support, and inspire curl enthusiasts everywhere.
